General licence and sales terms

Applicable to every order placed on this site. Version of 14 September 2026. Governing law: Luxembourg law; Directive (EU) 2019/770 on digital content and digital services, transposed by the law of 8 March 2021; Luxembourg Consumer Code.

1. Purpose

AMS STUDIO S.à.r.l. ("the publisher") grants the customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the PDF Mirror software ("the software") under the conditions below. The software is supplied as a download and a licence key; no physical medium is delivered.

2. Plans

Free. The reading and annotation features can be used without a licence, with no time limit, for private as well as professional purposes.
Pro. A perpetual licence for one named natural person, on the PCs they personally use. It includes bug-fix and feature updates of the software, with no expiry. It is not transferable without the publisher's written consent.
Business. A yearly licence, per seat, with a minimum of five seats, for a legal entity. The licence administrator enrols each seat by its user's e-mail address and may revoke and restore it; the administrator's seat counts as a seat. The licence renews tacitly each year and can be cancelled at any time for the current term from the payment portal or by e-mail; when it is not renewed, the software falls back to the Free plan without any loss of documents.

3. Price and payment

Prices are shown exclusive of tax; the applicable VAT is that of the customer's country, calculated at payment under the One-Stop Shop (OSS) scheme for EU consumers, and not applied to EU taxable persons outside Luxembourg who provide a valid VAT number (reverse charge). Payment is due on ordering and processed by Stripe; the publisher never sees your card number. The invoice is sent by e-mail.

4. Delivery

The licence key is sent to the e-mail address given immediately after payment is confirmed, normally within seconds and at the latest within 24 hours. The software can be downloaded from this site at any time; it is signed in the publisher's name.

5. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

A consumer has fourteen days from the order to withdraw without giving a reason (art. L.222-9 of the Consumer Code). The licence key is digital content supplied without a physical medium: by ticking, at payment, the box requesting immediate performance and acknowledging that you lose your right of withdrawal once the key is delivered, you waive that right (art. L.222-9 (2) k) of the Consumer Code; art. 16 m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). Without that acceptance, the key is delivered at the end of the period. To withdraw, write to contact@ams-studio.lu; the model form is in the annex. The refund is made within fourteen days by the same means of payment.

6. Legal guarantee of conformity

For a consumer, the software must conform to the contract and to reasonable expectations for two years from its supply (Pro licence) or throughout the period of supply (Business licence), in accordance with the law of 8 March 2021 transposing Directive (EU) 2019/770. The publisher provides the updates needed to keep it in conformity, including security updates. In the event of a defect, you may request that it be brought into conformity, then a price reduction or termination of the contract. This guarantee is in addition to that of article 1641 of the Civil Code on hidden defects.

7. What the licence does not allow

Reselling, renting or lending the licence; circumventing or altering the licensing mechanism; decompiling the software beyond what article 35 quater of the law of 18 April 2001 on copyright allows (interoperability); using the software to forge documents or to circumvent the protections of documents you do not hold the rights to.

8. Third-party components

The software includes components under free licences, listed in “About › Components”; their licences apply to those components. Office conversion relies on the Microsoft Office suite installed on your PC under your own licence.

9. Liability

The software is a tool; the legal validity of a signature, the tax compliance of an e-invoice and the safekeeping of your documents remain your responsibility. The publisher is liable for proven direct damages, up to the price paid over the last twelve months, except in cases of gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury — limitations that do not apply to consumers to the extent the law forbids them. The invoice checker applies the EN 16931 and Peppol BIS rules in force at the version date; it does not replace your tax administration's platform.

11. Termination for breach

In the event of use contrary to article 7, the publisher may, after a formal notice left without effect for fifteen days, revoke the licence key. The customer may stop using the software at any time.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Luxembourg law. A consumer keeps the protection of the mandatory provisions of their country of residence and may bring proceedings before the courts of that country. Before any action, we invite you to write to us; a consumer may also refer the matter to the National Consumer Ombudsman Service (see the legal notice). Failing agreement, the courts of Luxembourg have jurisdiction for business customers.
